Mostly me just moaning about my life and posting (what I think are) funny asides.  Not really a fandom place for me, but I respond to fandom stuff.  Read as:  it links to my facebook, which is almost all IRL folk.  So my status updates are not fandom, but I have fandom conversations there.  Also, I'm still not over that one time Patrick Stump DM'd me.  Dying.

I have very few followers on tumblr, and I'm trying to up that.  It is mostly me reblogging things I like, which generally are either political, science, funny, or One Direction.  I just figured out last week how to post to tumblr without sending it to twitter, so it's becoming more fandomish.  I am loving this post, and I keep looking at 1D with babies, which is ovary-explosion inducing.

However, I've also started blogging there as well.  I am addicted to Pinterest.  I love crafting.  The two have combined to me blogging about trying out stuff I've found on Pinterest.

So far, I've done turning a t-shirt into a tank top, making a really awesome vodka slush drink, and duck-shaped baby washcloths.  It's a ton of fun, and so I just wanted to share it with you.

ETA:  Also, I'm over here on Pinterest:   http://pinterest.com/sosaysbeth/

Three or four times today I've thought, "Oh, this is what I'm going to update LJ with tonight!" and yet now that I have time, I'm not sure I remember them all. This is why twitter sometimes works better for me - quick and easy. Except I don't tweet everything as it also goes to my Facebook. Social networking is tiring sometimes.

Anyway. One of them was definitely that I got my termite-infested tree taken down in my front yard. I took some pictures, but basically, 100 foot tall pine tree is now a pile of sawdust. I am happy about this and would take the other three down in a heartbeat if I had the cash. Pine trees suck, y'all. And I have ten other trees on my third of an acre, so I don't feel there's much environmental impact there. But the funniest part of the whole process is that my beloved cat - who is afraid of the vacuum cleaner, the sound of trash bags being opened, and occasionally her own shadow, just to name a few - was fascinated. She watched from the window the whole time and cried when they were done.

Other things I thought about today that I'm now too tired to go into: a post about comfort eating and my not-yet-enacted exercise plan for [profile] watchme_not_eat and thoughts for here about a conversation my sister and I had last week about how maybe we're both actually happier when we aren't dating. I'm noting these here because I would like to come back to them, and maybe by mentioning them, I actually will. Worth a shot, anyway.

AHAHAAHA

I got into my first Facebook fight, y'all!

One of the people who went to my uber-conservative Christian college responded to my link to a call to action from Planned Parenthood with a remark about "moral tragedy" so I responded back. Then I went to his profile, because he is one of the few people I have friended that I honestly don't know. So I looked at his profile, and at the Catholic pro-life ad and that he has Sarah Palin under his Pages, and I thought, "Why do I want to pretend like I remember this person?"

So I unfriended him. Maybe it's childish, but I don't really care. This morning he sent me an email saying that I was narrowing my world view by staying away from people who disagree with me. I probably should have just ignored it, but I sent him one back telling him the truth: I don't remember him, and I don't feel we have anything in common, and if that narrows my world, so be it.

Now, I'm going back to playing Scrabble.

In the Quotable Quotes Department:

Overheard by my realtor while he was letting us into a home that was located in one of Atlanta's less desirable neighborhoods: "Oh, they're white, they won't be here long."

Announcement by a flight attendant on my flight tonight as we were making our final approach into Phoenix, as they had to pause the inflight movie ten minutes before the end: "Don't worry, we'll turn it back on when we hit the ground *pause* Er, when we land."

Also, in news of the weird, my ex-boyfriend from college just found me on myspace. Blast from the past!

*confused*

Is something weird going on over at myspace? It's somehow as if the weekend didn't happen - there's stuff missing out of my inbox and sent folders.

Hmm, two guys I went to high school with have friended me on MySpace, what a riot! One was in my brother's class, and one in mine.

I actually had a really good high school experience. I went to a small school, only 44 in my graduating class. I wasn't the most popular girl in school, but no one was really mean... not that it didn't seem like drama at the time, I mean, we were teenage girls, we INVENTED drama. But all in all, it was a good era for me, and it makes me smile to see old friends.
