*sigh*

You know how you read something and then despair that you will never write anything that beautiful? No? Just me then. This is the latest book I've read and it's a genre that I really enjoy: historical fiction. At the end, there's an interview with the author and she talks about what was fact and what was fiction and talks a little bit about her process, which I found very interesting. And it's got SLASH!

We were silent for a moment, a dark little group under a mid-summer blue sky. George shook his head. "It's nothing," he reiterated. "And it's my own business. I'm sickened by women, by the constant desire and talk of women. You know all the sonnets and all the flirting and all the empty promises. And a boy is so clean and so clear..." He turned away. "It's a whim. I won't regard it."

Anybody wanna write me some George Boleyn/Francis Weston? Please?

I have felt that way many times. So I guess it's a good thing I don't write for a living.

And then they both dropped down DEAD!

Oh, guess that wasn't what you were looking for.

Oh, it's so beautifully written and so misogynist! I'm interested to see how the author deals with that now. Thanks for the rec. I'll look out for it after the PhD.
