Questions from
mrsquizzical:
1. i'd love to hear how you got into bandom. favourite music to listen to/ship to read.
I'd seen it on my flist and sort of ignored it. Someone put up a couple of MCR songs, and the only thing I can remember is 'Early Sunsets over Monroeville,' which I thought (and I know that this would be enough to get me killed in certain circles) that it sounded like someone playing a kazoo. Or one of those old polyphonic ringtones. Then last year
mcee recced Forever, Now and that AU where Gerard is a professor and Frank is his TA and I needed something to read. Then someone shared Mama, and I listened to it pretty much nonstop for a month, only interrupted by Christmas when my niece bought the CD and then I listened to that pretty much nonstop for the next six months. Voila, bandom.
Ooo, favorite music. That is such a hard question. I do unquestioningly love the bandom bands - My Chem, Panic, FOB. Ever since 'I Kissed a Boy' came out, I've been listening to Cobra. Outside of that, Counting Crows are my all-time favorite band (even beating out Queen, and that's a hard thing to do), and I'm really in love with Ben Lee's 'Ripe' album.
Favorite ship: Probably obvious by what I write, but I totally ship Brendon/Spencer. However I reject any and all nicknames for bandom ships.Brencer, omg, what were they thinking?
2. how much do real life people know about your online activities?
Um, sadly probably more than they want to. *waves to RL friends and coworkers who read this* Everyone who knows me knows I'm online next to constantly; I'm 33 and I have carpal tunnel, it's not hard to figure out. Anything that's on facebook they know about, and they know that I blog, although I don't think any of them read it. My writing, I would say anyone who reads my blog, because I don't lock stuff down, my sister, and my former roommate
eeeevil_genius (my go-to 'does gay sex work like this?' resource). Oh, and random people because he finds it amusing to tell people this without considering that it might, in fact, NOT be the first thing I'd like people to know about me.
3. what are your 'lines' in rpf? what won't you read?
Anything written in the first person. Nothing gets me to hit the back button faster.
Incest - does nothing for me. However, I support your First Amendment right to write or read it.
And that's probably about it for the hard and fast stuff. Otherwise, if it's well-written and I find it, I'll read it.
4. what is your favourite thing about yourself?
ETA: This space not left intentionally blank! Talk about a Freudian slip of self-esteem! :) My favourite thing about my self is my sense of humor. I find myself generally hilarious, even when others do not.
5. what is a meal that you enjoy? do you cook?
Oh, this is almost as hard as the music! I'm going to go with Pad Thai. There's also a fast-food Mexican place in Atlanta that does a fantastic chicken salad that I eat at least once a week.
I don't really cook; I assemble food. I don't enjoy cooking, and I only do as much as needed to get by, and mostly simple Weight Watchers recipes - my favorite of which would be Mango-Black Bean Quesadillas.
