Learning new words

Updating since Monday:
I did take my walk, along the cliffs. It was absolutely lovely, a beautiful day, and of course I didn't have my camera with me. I walked for probably a mile and a half or so, and then came back as it was getting dark. I'd shoved some money in my pocket, thinking I'd stop and have dinner at a restaurant on my way back. I got sat down and ordered, suddenly thought, hey better check I've got as much with me as I think and discovered I'd lost my money during the walk. £20, down the drain. Oh well. I had to cancel my order, which was embarrassing.
Work is going. For the time being. It's not going well - I've basically spent all day today waiting around to find out if we're going ahead. I'm hoping not, not because I don't want to do the work, but because going ahead is going to cause major problems for the client. Not on our side, thankfully, but still. Bad news.
And finally, the reason for the title: Last night, my coworker and I went to a local pub because he wanted to (read as: would absolutely die if he didn't get to) see the Liverpool vs Chelsea football match. We were forewarned that this pub was a bit "minging" - now this is a word I'd heard before and I knew what it meant, in theory. I now have real life experience. *shudders* I would describe it but I don't know that I have the words.

When Orlando Bloom was on Graham Norton, GN brought up a message board all about Orlando where the (obviously young) girls were each claiming that they knew Orlando better than the rest. The final test came down to "What is Orlando's favorite vegetable?" One of the girls wrote: "You are all mingers." So hey! It's a versatile word!! (oh the testee replied "broccoli" and the tester maintained it was "carrot" [singular] but Orlando upon being asked to sort it all out by GN replied "spinach." CUz I knew you'd wanna know. ;)
To keep you out of minging pubs in future, I point you to www.worldsbestbars.com

Sorry you lost your cash. Prolly got made into a seagull's nest (if they have nests)
I nearly used the word "minging" the other day in my Journal! It is usually used to discribe ugly people but can also mean "gross" I guess!!
I was gonna use it in the context of walrus moustaches that are definitly minging!!
