1) Atomic tests are unlikely to have contributed to global warming in any significant way. Atmospheric tests were discontinued in 1962 with the US performing just a tad over 1000 tests. I would assume similar numbers for the Soviets. The amount of material put into the atmosphere would easily be dwarfed by the average sized coal plant running over a short period of time. To the best of my knowledge, most of what is put into the atmosphere during the tests were not greenhouse gases anyway.
Automobiles, trucks, airplanes, large scale meat production and industrial plants are the big culprits with the occassional volcano making a contribution (though the volcanos often cause more cooling than warming in the short term due to the composition of their debris).
2) I rarely listen to the radio anymore. About the only time is when I rent a Flexcar. The rest of the time it is the internet or mp3s. It really is amazing how quickly the changes have taken place and to think of what it would be like to go back to the way things were. Is Columbia House and other record clubs even in business anymore?
