Excitement Abounds

Guess who's going to London????

Work finally made up their minds, after two weeks of deliberation. They are such dorks, I swear. So I leave on Saturday and I'll be there til the next Sunday and the site will most likely be a complete disaster because they're only getting a couple of days of prep time, but oh well! I'll be in London, and I can see my brother and maybe some friends I used to work with and have a pint with [livejournal.com profile] sparktastic and talk about boysmut!

you do know they are having torrential rains and 50 mph winds and November temps over there right now? Right?

Nope, not jealous, not jealous at all ;-)

Eh, I'm OK. Had date #2 with Jeremy last night. I don't see it going anywhere. And I feel like the summer is slipping away from me...now, it's really been a great summer just fewer dates. Bleeehhhhhh.....

Well, on the plus side I just booked my next holiday. I decided to not only get out of NYC for the Republican convention, I decided to get off the East Coast entirely. If I stay and protest, I'd probably just get arrested and/or get so mad I have a stroke. Plus I am riding in the North Fork Century on August 29 and surely I need a little reward if I actually ride for 100 miles, right? (Not that I will cancel at the last minute if I only finish, say 40 miles....) So I decided to go to Ojai, CA, former home of my art idol Beatrice Wood, to check out her studio and some of the other stuff in town. I'm treating myself by staying at a spa for three days then moving on to L.A. proper for the weekend. I found a great deal at Omni Hotel next to the Museum of Contemporary Art and I can do all the cheesy stuff I've never gotten to do like check out Rodeo Drive and er, hunt down Morrissey's house.

nope, he definitely lives in Hollywood somewhere - in the house that Clark Gable bought for Carole Lombard. By then he should be sitting at home with a cool cloth on his head, recuperating from months of media whoring. I will show up at the door with some vegan cookies, shouting "I'm here!"
