*sighs*

Okay, so here's the part about my job that I always think no one understands. Or at least, not at first. Y'all probably do because I whinge about it all the time.

So I'm in Ireland. I don't have to work tomorrow; I have a noon flight to Paris. Yes, I realize that all of that sounds quite glam, and I'm happy I get to do stuff like this.

But it's 8pm on a Thursday. And I want to go out. But not by myself.

I've promised myself I would; I've gone to the trouble of finding out from my trainees where I should go. But a big part of me just wants to stay in and eat take away and watch TV, because I find it so uncomfortable to be out alone. And when it's not uncomfortable, it tends just to be dull. During the day, it's fine, I don't mind at all - I can go sight-seeing and generally have a grand time. Night-time is a different story.

So. Right. Going now. *pushes self out the door*

Good for you!! In my old age I don't feel so badly about giong and sitting at the bar. I have done it a few times, but not that often. I bet it will get easier the more you do it. And you're exotic! And American in Ireland! Built-in conversation.

I'm glad you're going out! The Irish are quite friendly. :D

I had actually a pretty good time when I went out by myself in Scotland--lol as a matter of fact, made friends with a crazy Irishman . . .
